REPORTERS’ DIARY : When KTR defied KCR for Kavitha

Can fraternal bonds outweigh filial duty? Yes, perhaps. Following MLC Kalvakuntla Kavitha’s arrest, media persons were told that a press meet would be held by BRS working president KT Rama Rao and other MLAs as well as important party leaders at the Telangana Bhavan. However, it was held by Harish Rao.  A little bird told us that a former MLA informed KTR about directions from former CM K Chandrasekhar Rao to speak to the media after the arrest. However, KTR outrightly rejected it, and said it was not the time for politics and that he needed to attend to his sister’s family first. For, Kavitha’s son was alone; parents were taken away to Delhi. KTR chose to stay with his nephew. This being so, KCR not responding to his daughter’s arrest has not gone down well with the families. Not just CM Revanth Reddy, the buzz is on how a father can be silent while his daughter is being taken away?
