REPORTERS’ DIARY : Why will Revanth go the Eknath Shinde way?

“How can Revanth Reddy do an Eknath Shinde? in statecraft?” This question is uppermost in the minds of common people, who have heard former minister and BRS working president KT Rama Rao say repeatedly the present Telangana Chief Minister “will become like Eknath Shinde”. BJP leader DK Aruna has echoed similar feelings. In Maharashtra, Shiv Sena leader Eknath Shinde had chosen to split the party to achieve his aims. With this, then Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray’s government collapsed. Later, with the support of BJP, Eknath Shinde could become the Chief Minister. But the situation in Telangana is quite different. Revanth Reddy has already become the Chief Minister. Where is need for Revanth to do an Eknath Shinde? In Telangana, the BJP has just eight MLAs. With such slender support of BJP, no one can become the Chief Minister in Telangana.
