REPORTERS’ DIARY : Will Raghu say ‘Ram Ram’ to politics?

Realpolitik seems to be in full play in the politics of Andhra Pradesh. Member of Parliament Raghuram Krisham Raju, who switched to Telugu Desam Party after winning the 2019 LS polls on YSRCP ticket and later became a bitter critic of Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, is in a predicament now. He seems to have become dispensable for TDP supremo and former CM N Chandrababu Naidu. For, there is talk that Raghuram could be given the ticket for the Undi Assembly seat. This has incensed sitting MLA Ramaraju, who has indicated that he would quit the party if he is disturbed from his seat. But insiders know that all this is part of CBN’s drama to convince Raghuram that he had tried to spare Undi ticket but could not convince Ramaraju to give up his seat. So, people say, Raghuram has only one option: say ‘Ram Ram’ to politics.
