Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi has urged members of his party to refrain from using derogatory language against political opponents. In Telangana, however, the tone of Chief Minister Revanth Reddy’s language continues to be debatable topic, especially with regard to his choice of words for direct references to former chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao and his family. Rahul had famously said: “Humiliating and insulting people is a sign of weakness, not of strength”. Political circles in the state are wondering whether Revanth would heed Rahul or turn a deaf ear, considering the nature of latter’s political discourse while engaging with industrialist Gautam Adani. BRS, on its part, said: “Rahul Gandhi should give this sage advice to his party colleague Revanth Reddy who is a notorious motormouth!”
