During this meeting, CS Jawahar Reddy also proposed that EESL explore the potential of delivering cutting-edge Energy-Efficient technologies to micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs).

The Chief Secretary highlighted that Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy’s leadership has played a pivotal role in advancing the MSME sector in the State, empowering them with state-of-the-art technologies. A prime example of this commitment is the ‘Restart Model’ programme, a flagship initiative by the Andhra Pradesh government aimed at strengthening MSMEs. Under this initiative, the government has provided unwavering support to MSMEs, even during challenging periods like the COVID-19 pandemic. Additionally, the Energy Department’s special Action Plan, ensuring reliable and high-quality power supply to industries, has significantly aided MSMEs in enhancing their product quality.

The CEO of EESL explained to AP CS that the MSME sector, as a cornerstone of India’s economy, faces a multitude of challenges, ranging from financial constraints to limited market access. The adoption of innovative technologies can assist these enterprises in surmounting these hurdles, fostering increased competitiveness, productivity, and growth, ultimately contributing to India’s GDP and industrial output. Vishal Kapoor commended Andhra Pradesh’s proactive stance in the realm of energy efficiency and the promotion of renewable energy sources.

He underscored EESL’s steadfast commitment to supporting key states and highlighted the organization’s role as a pioneer in energy services, specializing in efficiency, renewable energy, electric mobility, and decentralized solar power generation.

The Chief Secretary expressed his gratitude to the Government of India for facilitating the memorandum of agreement (MOA) between Andhra Pradesh and EESL, in coordination with the Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE), to initiate a monumental Energy Efficiency Project in Jagananna Colonies. He advised EESL to collaborate with Secretary of Industries and Commerce Yuvaraj and Commissioner Praveen Kumar to formulate a roadmap for implementing energy efficiency in MSMEs in a cost-effective and time-bound manner. The ultimate goal of the Government of Andhra Pradesh is to make MSMEs the top-performing sector in the country, achieving economically viable objectives, stated the Chief Secretary.
