Farmers in the State will chase Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) president A Revanth Reddy out of the State soon for advocating that a three-hour power supply is adequate for the farm sector, said Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) leaders said here on Sunday. The TPCC president insulted farmers, they said.
Speaking to the media here, District Rythu Bandhu president Gopal Yadav, Market Committee chairman Rehman and BRS leaders Katta Ravi Kishan Reddy and Jambulaiah launched a broadside at Revanth Reddy. Revanth Reddy would face farmers’ anger for his ant-farmer stand, they felt.

Continuing their tirade, the BRS leaders said that “some leaders devoid of moral values joined the Congress party and tarnished its image.” They demanded that the Congress leaders should stop plasticising cheap tactics. They alleged that a leader had grabbed the land belonging to Dalits.

Referring to Revanth Reddy’s threat that the names of some police officers would be noted in the red diary and they would be punished after Congress came to power, the BRS leaders demanded that stringent action should be taken against the TPCC president. They justified the police action in registering cases against Revanth Reddy for threatening to “strip police officer naked and thrash them.” They said that the Congress leaders, in a bid to counter police cases against Revanth Reddy, held a meeting in Mahabubnagar on Saturday.

They expressed confidence that the BRS would win 100 seats in the next elections. They praised Minister for Prohibition and Excise V Srinivas Goud for his pivotal role in the separate Telangana movement.

Municipal Council Deputy Floor leader Katta Ravi Kishan Reddy alleged that the former MLA Sampath Kumar had constructed a house in violation of building rules.

District Shepherds’ Association president Santhanna Yadav, Municipal Vice-Chairman Ganesh and others were present.
