Revenue department is still under suspended animation

Activities of revenue department, except registration of agriculture lands through Dharani portal, have come to a standstill long after the lifting of the election code of conduct.
The revenue offices across the State have suspended their activities for the past two-and-a-half months due to election code of conduct. But, the EC has lifted the code, but the revenue offices did not revert to their routine activities.
The revenue officials are also not coming forward to resolve the Dharani problems on the pretext of change of guard in Telangana.
The district collectors are understood to have kept disposal of all applications under GO No. 59 under pending. Even after lifting of the code of conduct they are not coming forward to resolve the applications, according to sources in the revenue department.
The office of the CCLA went into suspended animation ever since the code of conduct was enforced. It is not even enquiring what has happened at the field level, according to the revenue employees.
The election activity was noticed from September. The election schedule was issued in October and the election notification in November. The code of conduct came into force ever since the schedule was released, leading to revenue offices suspending all activities. Tahsildrs and RDOs were thoroughly involved in election duties.
District collectors who were returning officers were busy with the election duties till Dec 4, when the code of lifted.
The officials are not attending to Wirasat and digital signed applications too. Lakhs of applicants seeking changes incorporated in Dharani portal and GO No. 59 related works have to make rounds to collector’s offices.
Because of the new government coming to power in the State, the District Collectors have been asked not to attend to the routine work keeping all files under the pendency. Addressing the collectors by video conference, their superiors were understood to have passed instructions in this regard, according to rumours gaining ground.
The CCLA office has reportedly been asked to not to take any decisions on revenue activities.
