RGUKT students to be trained in blockchain technology

The management of RGUKT-Nuzvid has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Bengaluru-based Straw Hat Private Limited company in order to boost the students’ software technology skills. RGUKT-Nuzvid Director Prof GVR Srinivasa Rao said that the company’s primary focus was on training students in blockchain technology trust-based applications. He explained that the MoU initially lasted for three years under which the company would instruct third-year BTech students from all branches on blockchain technology with the aid of its blockchain experts.

Prof Srinivasa Rao said that for all enrolled students, the programme would last three months and to raise awareness on the opportunities in the field of blockchain, the company would host workshops and hackathons during the training. He further said that 25 students who completed training were eligible for an internship programme, which was available for a year and paid Rs 25,000 per month. He said it was a golden opportunity for the students of RGUKT as after the internship, an assessment test would be conducted, and those who passed it would be hired for a Rs 12 lakh-per-year package.

Dr Obulapathi Challa, CEO of Straw Hat Private Limited, Dr Lakshman, Dean of Academics, Vasu, Placement Officer and other officials participated in the programme.
