Rohan Gandotra, known for being a part of Everest, Kaala Teeka, Dil Se Dil Tak, and Silsila Badalte Rishton ka, is one of the most notable actors in the Hindi Television industry.

Rohan made his acting debut on television with a lead role as Aakash Joshi on Ashutosh Gowariker’s Everest on StarPlus produced by AGPPL in 2014. He gained recognition for his role as Akash Joshi which earned him Best Debut at the prestigious Gold Awards and a nomination as the Best Fresh New Face (Male) in Indian Telly Awards.

The actor believes that his journey so far has been with a lot of ups and downs, especially after the pandemic. However, it has been a learning and adventure too.Do you also wonder when was the moment that he realised he would get into acting? Hear it from him, “There was no moment to be precise, I was happy doing modeling back in Delhi when I was in college. Destiny called me here for a tv show audition and things started getting unfolded from there and I just went with the flow.”

Rohan has been part of several projects, and every character that he plays is much loved by the audience. On telling us about his project-choosing process, the Twist wala Love actor says, “I always take up projects which are relatable to me, whom I can relate to.

With the character and storyline of the show too. If I can’t relate to any character I won’t be able to do justice to the character and in turn, performance would look bad. So I choose relatable characters.

Over the past time now, we see several actors trying to promote themselves as much as they can. However, on the other side, Rohan is one amongst them who stays away from the star buzz, and be transparent with the fans and audience. To this, he says, “I am always the kind of person who loves to do things by myself. Sometimes I am very introverted, and sometimes I am extroverted (rarely). I never thought that this would impact my career also. Nowadays ppl who have done single shows are earning in lakhs bcoz they know how to stay in limelight and ppl who have done several shows have very less social media engagement.”

Apart from working in television shows, Rohan has been part of some amazing web shows including Hotstar’s one of the most celebrated shows 1962: The War in the hills, Karrle Tu Bhi Mohabbat, and Aai. Asked about the difference he felt working in both the mediums, the 1962: The War in the Hills actor says, “It’s not about the web or tv.

The show itself was a war-based show. It needs a lot of physical fitness. The shot-taking process was very different. It demanded a huge budget, endless action sequences, and whatnot. Overall one of the best experiences in my life.”

On the work front, Rohan will begin shooting for his upcoming web show, which will begin in February in Dubai. “I am playing a positive turned negative guy. An extremely different kind of rile which I have never done. Quite excited about that,” he signs off.
