In a significant development, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) Court in Vijayawada issued orders on Tuesday transferring the case of the rooster knife attack on Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy in the port city to its counterpart in Visakhapatnam.

However, the hearing on the petition was later adjourned to August 8, 2023. In response to the NIA Court’s orders, Srinivasa Rao’s lawyer, G Sandhu, expressed disappointment that the case was transferred to the NIA Court in Visakhapatnam after 80 percent of the arguments had already been presented in the Vijayawada court.

The lawyer claimed that they were fully prepared to present their arguments comprehensively in any court. Additionally, the lawyer insisted that Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy must appear before the court in connection with the case.

It may be recalled that the accused, J Srinivasa Rao, attacked the then Opposition leader in the Assembly, Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy, with a rooster knife at Vizag airport in the year 2018. The attack resulted in Jagan Mohan Reddy sustaining a bleeding injury on his shoulder.
