Rs 12.82 crore released for pastors’ honorariums: Min

The state government has released Rs 12.82 crore for honorarium payments to Christian pastors across the state, Minister for Law and Minority Welfare NMD Farooq announced on Thursday. He stated that the funds would be distributed among 8,427 pastors, with each receiving Rs 5,000 per month.
Farooq noted that the government has been releasing funds for pastors’ honorariums since May last year. He also highlighted that last month, the state disbursed Rs 45 crore for the six-month honorariums of imams and mouzams.
Reaffirming the government’s commitment to minority welfare, the minister said it remains a top priority for the coalition government.
