District Election Officer (DEO) Ronald Rose on Saturday said that since the Model Code of Conduct (MCC) came into force, as much as 1,545 litres of liquor and Rs 2.93 crore cash were seized. A total of 115 cases were so far registered and 116 people were arrested in prohibition cases.
On Saturday Election Commission of India released a communiqué saying that Rs 2,93,46,200 cash and other material items worth Rs 52,27,165 had been seized so far in two Lok Sabha constituencies in Hyderabad district since March 16.
Ronald Rose said that as many as seven FIRs were registered in the district during the last 24 hours. In the two constituencies, a total of Rs 6,47,500, other material items worth Rs 50,330 and 28 liters of liquor were seized between 6 am on Friday to 6 am on Saturday.
He held a training programme for sector officers, district level and constituency level master trainers at Banjara Bhavan in Banjara Hills on Saturday.
At the training DEO said that master trainers should possess complete knowledge of every aspect of election. While giving training to POs and APOs at the constituency level, trainers should clear their doubts and before that, master trainers at the constituency level should have a grasp on every aspect of the training.
Everyone who is on election duty should fill Form-12 for postal ballot and if there are any changes in data entry, they will be done immediately. Voter Facilitation Centres in constituencies in the district for postal ballot voting would start from May 3 to 8.
Hyderabad District Collector Anudeep Durishetti said that the role of sectoral officers is crucial in the conduct of elections. Secunderabad Returning Officer Hemant Keshav Patil, Zonal Commissioner Hemant Borkade, Secunderabad Cantonment CEO Madhukar Naik, Additional Election Commissioner Alivelu Mangatayaru, Sectoral Officers, District Level, Constituency Level Master Trainers and others participated in the training programme.
