The Andhra Pradesh State Investment Promotion Board (SIPB) convened under the leadership of Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy on Tuesday, clearing a series of investment proposals totalling Rs 22,302 crore. These investments are earmarked for the establishment of energy industries, promising to generate 5,300 job opportunities.
JSW Neo Energy Ltd’s proposal to set up four solar power projects across the state, with an investment of Rs 12,065 crore, was given the green light during the SIPB meeting. These projects, located in Chakrayapet (YSR District), Mudigubba (Sri Satya Sai District), Rapthadu (and Kanaganapalli), and D Hirehal (and Bommnaal) in Anantapur District, will collectively produce 3,350 MW of power and create employment for 3,300 individuals.
Additionally, JSW will initiate 1,71.60 MW wind power projects at Kunukuntla (Owk mandal of Nandyal district) and Jaladurgam (Peapully Mandal of Kurnool district) with a Rs.1,287 crore investment, offering employment to 200 persons. Aqua Green Engineering Management Pvt Ltd is set to establish a 1,000 MW solar power unit at Puli Gundlapally in Talupula mandal of Sri Satya Sai District, investing Rs.4,000 crore and creating jobs for 1,000 individuals.
Ecoren Energy India Pvt Ltd has been approved to establish a 200 MW wind power unit at Aspari in Kurnool district with a Rs.1,350 crore investment, employing 200 people. Renew Vikram Shakti Pvt Limited has received the nod to establish 600 MW wind power projects in Sri Satya Sai and Anantapur districts with a Rs.3,600 crore investment, offering employment opportunities for 600 individuals.
The SIPB meeting was attended by Deputy Chief Minister (PR&RD) B Muthyala Naidu, Finance Minister Buggana Rajendranath, Minister for Energy, Forests and Environment P. Ramachandra Reddy, IT and Industries Minister G Amarnath, CS KS Jawahar Reddy, Special Chief Secretaries K Vijayanand (Energy), Ajay Jain (Housing), Dr Rajat Bhargava (Tourism), SS Rawat (Finance), K Praveen Kumar (GAD), Industries Secretary N Yuva Raj, Principal Secretary (Commerce-Handlooms) K Sunita, and other officials.
