Commissioner Ch Naga Narasimharao of Kakinada Municipal Corporation has announced that modern amenities are being introduced across all municipal schools in the city through an allocation of Rs 32 crore from the Smart City funds.

Narasimharao conducted an extensive inspection of ongoing development projects in various schools, particularly in the Salipeta, Vimukti Colony, and Santhanapuri Colony areas, on Friday. During this visit, he said that the infusion of Smart City funds is intended to facilitate essential upgrades, including modern furniture and the installation of RO (Reverse Osmosis) plants for providing safe drinking water. These improvements are part of an overarching effort to enhance the quality of education and infrastructure in municipal schools. Notably, these funds are being allocated in addition to the resources already committed to the Nadu-Nedu programme.

The Commissioner reassured that meticulous attention is being given to ensuring the timely completion of all ongoing projects without compromising on quality standards. He emphasized that the Smart City funds represent a vital investment in the future of Kakinada’s education infrastructure.

Accompanying Commissioner Narasimharao during the inspection were officials from the Smart City project, dedicated municipal staff, and the contractors responsible for executing the various works. Their presence underscores the commitment to oversee and manage these developmental initiatives efficiently.
