Rs 41,338 crore allocated by Centre for 2023-24: Buggana

Finance Minister Buggana Rajendranath Reddy during the ongoing Legislative Council sessions on Friday stated that funds of Rs 41,338 crore are being allocated by the central government for the financial year 2023-2024. The FM clarified that according to the proposal of the 15th Finance Commission, the Center has allocated funds of Rs 8,077 crore for the local bodies.

He said that Andhra Pradesh has to get funds to the tune of Rs 19,794 crores under various sponsored schemes and programmes from the Centre. Similarly, the FM said that the Center has allocated Rs 30 crore to Andhra Pradesh Tribal University. He said that Rs 40 crore has been allocated to Anantapur Central University, and Rs 168 crore to the Indian Institute of Petroleum and Energy in Visakhapatnam has to be received from the Centre by the State, he said.

Minister Buggana explained that the Center has allocated Rs 23.20 crores to the National Institute of Design in Guntur, and Rs 12 lakhs to Anantapur Prasanthi Nilayam.
