In an effort to provide benefits of welfare schemes to each and every beneficiary in the State, Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy on Tuesday disbursed Rs 590.91 crore and credited the respective amounts directly into the bank accounts of 2,95,065 beneficiaries who were not covered under various schemes due to some eligibility errors.

Addressing the event, the Chief Minister highlighted that through this initiative, his government has given another opportunity to those who are eligible but are unable to avail of the benefits of these schemes.

Highlighting that Andhra Pradesh is the only state where benefits of the government’s schemes are reaching all beneficiaries in 100% saturation without any bias of caste, creed, religion, or party affiliation, CM emphasized, ‘Like never before in the history of the nation, we are making deposits to the beneficiaries’ accounts under various social schemes.’

With this, the total amount disbursed under various schemes was raised to Rs 6,684.84 crore and the total number of beneficiaries was raised to 44, 27,641.

CM Jagan lambasteds TDP for malicious propaganda and fake claims on pensions. He also seized the opportunity to express his disappointment at the negative propaganda being spread by the Opposition and its extended mouthpiece- yellow media. He opined that the Opposition is working only with the agenda to defame his government and spread false news regarding pensions.

He said that they were disseminating false information on the deletion of pension recipients while the audit was under process.

The CM said that ‘the State government has not stopped any pension. The pensions were temporarily withheld for conducting the social audit. What’s wrong with this, he asked?’

Intensifying his attack on TDP, the CM said that TDP should be ashamed of Chandrababu Naidu govt during which the people were to pay some percentage of welfare schemes to Janmabhoomi committees. Comparing the stats of pensions from TDP’s regime, CM said, ‘the TDP administration only allocated a paltry Rs 400 crore for pensions, giving only 39 lakh people a monthly income of Rs 1000. While the monthly pension has now increased to Rs 2,750 and there are now 62,70,000 pensioners.

Besides, the CM asked the officials to conduct an audit of the pension schemes every six months. He further directed them to ensure that people wouldn’t fall for the deceptive propaganda.
