S Kiran Kumar: I got the basics right on the first day of shoot

A crime thriller drama with a love story in it, titled Jaan Say, is making the buzz right now in the city of Nizams. It’s director S Kiran Kumar although with no prior experience, just out of sheer passion has stepped up to make this film!

With new actors on board, he admits to a breezy love story to be shown too, at the moment the shooting is totally complete and he’s just waiting for the film to roll on the celluloid. The release date will be announced soon.

Beginning with, he says, “I wanted to tell my stories and thoughts through films, that is the main reason behind my intention to turn as a director. I have been on this story for the past nine years. Six months ago, I completed the script and with the post-production going on at a brisk pace, I can’t wait to show you all my product.”

Not wanting to get typecast, he’’ hoping to become an all-rounder. He continued, “Story is my biggest confidence. I thought it would be simple but as the film progresses I came to know that this is a sea and there is a lot to know about it. Meanwhile I evolved in this process while making the film. I like to take risks. I believe to grow further we need to take risks in life. With that confidence, I have completed the shoot.”

Many expressed their doubts about him as a newcomer. But, he proceeded with those who believed in him! He also mentions, “The film will be very close to the people we see in our daily lives. I took a fictional character and placed them in current society. A girl with a brain like Mokshagundam Visvesvaraya and brave like Jhansi Lakshmibai and how she faced problems in present society is the theme.”

Not even knowing about intricacies about camera angles, or close-ups for that matter of fact—he decided to join an institute. “With experienced technicians I started shooting the film. I got the basics right on the first day of shooting itself and that boosted me! And, my inspiration is Puri Jagannadh, I want to follow his steps.  I am hardly thinking about profits at the moment. I completed shooting in 22 days so my focus is on critical acclaim.”

With a budget of ten crores, he set on his debut directorial journey and revealed, “My wife knew the story. She liked it so much.That’s why she got convinced when I told her about my decision to become a filmmaker. I will show them the film once it gets completed!

There is a catch here: the three dots. Those three dots indicate the lives of three people. I will reveal two of them in upcoming promotions and the third role is a suspense. You have to watch the film in theatres to know about it.”
