As part of the welfare programmes, Rachakonda Commissioner of Police DS Chauhan distributed Rs 5 lakh worth 71,250 ORS packets and AC helmets to the traffic personnel.
Rachakonda Commissioner Chauhan organised a review meeting on traffic and road safety with the officials of Rachakonda Traffic and Road Safety Department. On this occasion it was decided to strengthen infrastructure and procurement of safety equipment for traffic personnel.
As part of the infrastructure development programme for the traffic personnel, the Commissioner allocated Rs 3.2 crore worth of speed laser guns, digital cameras, traffic safety equipment such as barricades, cones, bollards, state-of-the-art communication equipment and kitbags, safety helmets, masks, radium jackets, sunglasses, gloves, water bottles, jungle shoes and raincoats.
Speaking on the occasion, the Commissioner said that the traffic staff should take all precautions to protect themselves from the intense heat of the summer sun and take care of their health. The Commissioner warned that strict action will be taken against vehicle owners who do not have proper number plates. Special checks are being conducted for vehicles with fake number plates, he said.
