Sajjala raps CBN ‘flip-flop’ on volunteers

Must read

YSRCP State general secretary Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy has made startling allegations against media mogul Ramoji Rao, accusing him of financial impropriety under the guise of Margadarsi.
Reddy asserted that Ramoji Rao’s influence through his publication ‘Eenadu’ has reached a level where it impacts state politics and could potentially sway the upcoming 2024 elections. He further claimed that Ramoji Rao is actively supporting Chandrababu Naidu’s bid to regain power, implying a nexus between the media baron and the political opposition.
Reddy said that despite the opposition’s efforts to tarnish the image of the YSRCP through false media reports, there has been a conspicuous silence regarding the Margadarsi case, which is currently under critical scrutiny in the Supreme Court. Allegations of financial malfeasance, including the diversion of customer funds in violation of RBI regulations, have been levelled against Ramoji Rao, suggesting the existence of a clandestine network of financial irregularities. The YSRCP State general secretary highlighted the origins of the Margadarsi chit fund in the 1960s and alleged that its evolution was marred by coercion and threats, as evidenced by the reported intimidation of GJ Reddy’s sons.
Reddy insinuated that a comprehensive investigation, as mandated by the Supreme Court and potentially overseen by the Telangana High Court, would unveil the extent of Ramoji’s alleged misappropriations, underscoring the need for stringent legal oversight.
Reddy also aimed Chandrababu Naidu’s flip-flopping stance on volunteer services, citing instances where the former chief minister purportedly obstructed pension disbursements and subjected pensioners to undue hardship. He accused Naidu of opportunism, asserting that recent promises to retain and compensate volunteers ring hollow in light of previous disparaging remarks and punitive measures against them.
Reddy warned that if Naidu were to return to power, all volunteers would be terminated and replaced with Janma Bhoomi committees, exacerbating the plight of pensioners and disenfranchising grassroots workers. He accused the Telugu Desam Party of instigating discord to compensate for its electoral shortcomings, cautioning that such tactics would not sway voters who are increasingly attuned to Naidu’s alleged machinations.
