Warner Bros. Discovery presents “Star vs Food Survival,” an adventurous culinary show premiering on October 9, 2023 at 9:00 PM on Discovery Channel, and on discovery+. Renowned chef Ranveer Brar leads a star-studded cast on a journey through Coorg and Spiti, delving into the flavors and stories of India’s culinary heritage with guests Suniel Shetty, Sanjay Dutt, Aparshakti Khurana, Mouni Roy, and Nakuul Mehta.
The premiering episode opens up to the two foremost legends in Indian cinema, Suniel Shetty and Sanjay Dutt who share a rare glimpse of their witty chemistry as audiences reminisce about the glory days of Indian cinema. The duo along with Chef Brar traverse through the pristine, untouched terrains of rural Coorg, which also happens to be Shetty’s native land.They test their mental and physical resilience over a stretch of 15 km, where they must prepare two entire meals while tackling several challenges along the way. For food, shelter, and clothing, they have no choice but to forage for whatever they can, wherever they can.

Sanjay Dutt on Bollywood during the 80s v/s now, “There was so much bonding amongst all of us. We were so together, we worked in so many movies together.” Sanjay Dutt on a difficult time in his life, “The first time I went to jail if you see the photographs outside Thane jail – Anna, Akshay, Ajay, Shah Rukh, everybody came and wished me well.”
Later he adds, “I had no respite from serving jail time, so why overthink it? I had to make up my mind that yes I had to go. I have to face it. In six years, I faced it, managed it, made the most out of it, and learned from it. I used that time to learn cooking, scriptures, and working out. I came out with a better physique.”

Chef Ranveer Brar also shared an interesting parallel between wild honey and Shetty and Dutt, “Honey never expires. Just like both of your stardoms.”
Aside from two scrumptious meals carefully crafted with sparse resources against the backdrop of the luscious Coorg greenery, the first episode is also a testament to the fierce brotherhood shared by Shetty and Dutt, and also the communal aspect of old Bollywood.
