Satya Column : Modi is for balanced development of the nation

Must read

The BharatiyaJanata Party, by winning four seats in the by-polls to seven Assembly constituencies in six states, has proved once again that there is no halt to its winning streak. The polls held for two seats in the BJP-ruled states of Uttar Pradesh and Haryana proved that there was no anti-establishment mood among the people there.

The BJP retained the Gokarna Nath seat in UP, while it wrested the Adhampur seat from the Congress in Haryana. The BJP won the Gopalgunj seat in Bihar, although the JD (U) had bowed out of the NDA. The BJP nominee defeated the candidate of the grand alliance comprising JD (U), RJD, Congress and the Left parties. In Dham Nagar of Odisha, the BJP defeated the ruling BJD candidate. The Congress nominee polled only 3,561 votes, reflecting the sorry situation of the party unit in Odisha.

Even after a month of Mallikarjun Kharge becoming the Congress president, there is no josh in the party. The Congress nominee lot deposit in its erstwhile fortress of Munugodeconstituency. The entire Cabinet of TS Chief Minister KChandrasekhar Raohad stayed put in Munugode for over a month, offering inducements like liquor and spending thousands of cores to win the by-election. The TRS candidate managed to win the seat with a majority of over 10,000.

The overall outcome of the by-polls is a testimony to the popularity of BJP. There is no doubt that it will continue the winning streak even in the Gujarat Assembly elections. The erstwhile 10-year Congress rule was marked by scams. Under current Chief Minister Jairam Thakur, health scheme, Jal-Jeevan Mission and many welfare and developmental schemes are being implemented.

The Modi government at the Centre is implementing Rs 44,000 crore welfare schemes in Himachal Pradesh. People of Himachal Pradesh know that they should re-elect the BJP for continuation of corruption-free and clean administration as well as continuation of developmental activities. All opinion polls are inclining towards the BJP. The Republic TV-P-Mark opinion poll indicated that the BJP would bag 37-45 seats in the 68-seat Himachal Pradesh Assembly.

The BJP has been in power in Gujarat for the past 27 years. The Congress’ base is shrinking with each passing day. The Republic TV poll indicated that BJP would win 127-140 seats out of the 182, while the Congress must contend with 22-28 seats. The poll predicted that the Aam Admi Party, however hard it tried, would not win more than one seat.

ABP’s C Voter Survey also indicated that the BJP would win with majority in Gujarat and HP. The objective of BJP is to win more seats than its previous tally in every election. In the 2017 polls, BJP won 99 seats out of 182 in Gujarat. With Congress MLAs joining the BJP and BJP winning by polls, its strength rose to 127. All surveys indicate that the BJP would win more than 127 seats this time.

According to the Centre for Monitoring Indian Economy’s recent report, Gujarat has emerged as the biggest state in the country that attracted huge investments from domestic as well as overseas companies. During the current fiscal year, Gujarat attracted investments up to US $ 3.98 trillion.

Inauguration of developmental projects in Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana by Modi on a large scale during his recent tour of south India suggests that PM is for balanced development of the nation, irrespective of the ruling party in any state.

Modi launched Rs 13,233-crore infrastructural development projects in oil, natural gas and highways sectors in AP. AP CM Jagan Mohan Reddy, who had removed the term development from his dictionary, engaged in a futile exercise of claiming credit for the Centre’s developmental projects.

Modi revived the RamagundamFertiliser Plant in Ramagundam and launched other projects worth Rs 9,500 crore. Unfortunately, Telangana Chief Minister KChandrasekhar Rao insulted Modi, instead of extending the traditional welcome to the PM. The TS CM is slinging mud on BJP and Modi only to wriggle out of corrupt deeds in which he is involved.

“For the last 20 years I have become target of abuses by many. They are abusing me by searching for words in dictionary. I am becoming more powerful as at least two or three kg of abuse are hurled at me. God gave the energy to bear with the insults. I would not spare those who loot the people if they play havoc with the dreams of Telangana,” Modi said warning the ruling TRS. Did KCR get the message?
