In a disturbing incident, a 14-year-old minor girl, was subjected to a gang rape by four individuals in Visakhapatnam. Though the incident took place a few days ago, the incident came to light only on Sunday.
The victim, a 10th-Class student, was allegedly repeatedly raped by Satya Rao, a peon at the girl’s school and three others.
The perpetrators also coerced the girl by threatening to release her explicit photos and videos on social media.
The parents of the victim noticed a significant change in their daughter’s behaviour and, upon questioning, she courageously shared her harrowing experience.
The victim’s father, a Navy officer, filed a complaint at the Visakhapatnam Airport Police Station, detailing the sexual assault suffered by his daughter.
The police swiftly responded to the situation, taking the girl to the hospital for a thorough medical examination. Following their investigation, the authorities successfully apprehended the accused, who have been charged under the POCSO Act.
A search operation is currently underway to apprehend the remaining three suspects.
The investigation revealed that the victim and the accused resided in the same apartment complex, which provided an opportunity for this abhorrent crime to take place.
In order to ensure a thorough investigation, the case has been transferred to the Disha Police department, where ACP Vivekananda is leading the efforts.
