Science fairs will help students develop knowledge: Dilli Rao

NTR District Collector S Dilli Rao has said that science exhibitions would help to develop scientific temper in society. The State government is taking steps to improve scientific knowledge among students by conducting science exhibitions, he said. He inaugurated the two-day Science Fair organised at the Aligineni Peda Muthaiah Zilla Parishad High School at Kotturu Tadepalli near Vijayawada on Tuesday. “Science exhibitions would be helpful to the students to make innovations,” he said.

He visited the expo and enquired about the exhibits. The students explained the uses and importance of exhibits to the Collector. The exhibits included handmade Microscope, Fiber Root System, Top Root System, Water Saver, Searching Robo, Smart Air Cooler, Electronic Weight Lifter and 3D Printer. The students presented the Collector with a name board which was made with a 3D printer.

He said that the mandal-level science exhibitions would be conducted from December 12 to 13 and the district-level exhibition will be held on January 27 and 28. Eco-friendly materials, health and cleanliness, software and apps, environment and climate changes, mathematical modeling etc. would be themes.

He further said that those who performed well in the district-level science exhibition would take part in the State–level science exhibition and he added that teachers should encourage the students.

Later, he tasted the mid-day meals along with the NTR District Educational Officer (DEO) CV Renuka and expressed happiness. He praised the cooking agency. Meanwhile, he taught a Telugu lesson to Class 10 students and asked them the meaning of the poem.

The Collector praised science teachers Samuel, Rambabu, DV Ramanamma and Telugu teacher Narasimha Rao. Kotturu Tadepalli Sarpanch Vuyyuru Gopala Rao, District Science Officer Hussain, Vijayawada Rural MPDO Bhargavi, Tahsildar B Sai Srinivas Naik, MEO A Venkata Ratnam, Panchayat Secretary K Murali Mohan, HM Kamalakar Rao and SMC chairman SK Baji were present.
