South Central Railway (SCR) General Manager Arun Kumar Jain on Wednesday took stock of the Secunderabad-Medchal MMTS route.
He interacted with the passengers throughout the journey, enquiring about their experience and seeking feedback for improvement. The passengers urged Jain to increase the number of MMTS trains on the Secunderabad-Medchal route. They expressed gratitude for MMTS services, which are serving the commuters well from all walks of life.
The General Manager also inspected facilities available at different stations, including Malkajgiri, Dayanand Nagar, Safilguda, Ramakistapuram, Ammuguda, Cavalry Barracks, Alwal, Bolarum, Gundlapochampally, Gowdavalli and Medchal stations. He inspected the Medchal station, including the passenger amenities, booking office, circulating area etc. He also deliberated on the development of the Medchal railway station as per future requirements.
South Central Railway recently introduced 20 MMTS train services which are being operated between Secunderabad – Medchal. The extension of MMTS services strengthens the rail connectivity between different parts of the twin cities with Medchal.
MMTS is the most cost-effective means of transport in the twin city region, where the minimum fare is Rs 5 and maximum fare is Rs 15 only. As a result, passengers of the new sections like Medchal, Bolarum, Malkajgiri etc will also be able to travel in a safe, secure, faster and economical mode of transportation within the city limits. This will be particularly beneficial to students, commuters, small business people, ladies and employees.
Jain was accompanied by Sharat Chandrayan, Divisional Railway Manager, Hyderabad Division, and other senior officials from headquarters and the divisions during the journey.
