The Society for Employment Generation and Enterprise Development in Andhra Pradesh (SEEDAP) chairman, Deepak Reddy Gunapati, announced that the state government aims to generate 20 lakh jobs over the next five years. Speaking at a press conference on Monday, he shared that SEEDAP has already trained 1.36 lakh youth, of whom 1.04 lakh have secured employment.
Deepak Reddy stated that SEEDAP plans to expand its efforts further, targeting the creation of 1 lakh jobs annually and promoting enterprise development.
“Our programmes align with the government’s goal of generating 20 lakh jobs, as envisioned by HRD Minister Lokesh, who aims to position Andhra Pradesh as a hub for highly skilled professionals,” he said. He added that the Skill Census initiative, a first-of-its-kind effort to map the state’s workforce, is a step in that direction. “We are working towards making Andhra Pradesh the Skill Capital of India,” he asserted.
He highlighted that SEEDAP’s initiatives are aligned with the Prime Minister’s ‘Vikshit Bharat 2047’ and ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’ missions, as well as the Chief Minister’s ‘Swarna Andhra 2047’ vision. “Our aim is to ensure global success for Telugu people,” he remarked. SEEDAP currently manages the DDUGKY programme and plans to take up 12 more skilling projects, becoming a one-stop solution for skill development in the state. To further its mission, SEEDAP will prepare a comprehensive action plan in consultation with Sector Skill Councils (SSCs), industry stakeholders, and training partners, which will be presented to the Minister.
“We are encouraging SSCs to establish Centres of Excellence (CoEs) and develop cluster models to support local industries and reduce rural migration,” he said.
Deepak Reddy also noted that SEEDAP is actively pursuing international placements for trainees. “We will address any skill gaps efficiently under the guidance of the HRD Minister,” he concluded.
