West Godavari District Collector Chadalavada Nagarani has instructed officials to identify beneficiaries for subsidized loans under the Scheduled Castes (SC) and Backward Classes (BC) Corporations.
During a meeting with Corporation Executive Directors, bankers, and department officials, the Collector reviewed the disbursement of loans through these corporations. She emphasised that constituency-wise beneficiary lists should be prepared and that all loans should be grounded by March 31.
She stated that under the ‘Unnati’ scheme, aimed at SC women’s empowerment, 120 units would be sanctioned without bank consent, at a cost of Rs 3.60 crore, enabling beneficiaries to purchase passenger auto rickshaws. Additionally, Rs 24.39 crore has been allocated for the purchase of 714 auto rickshaws under the SC General category. She mentioned that up to Rs 3 lakh per unit would be sanctioned for the purchase of goods transport vehicles, while a 60% subsidy would be provided for setting up sheep units under the Animal Husbandry Department. She added that a 50% subsidy would be given for the purchase of agricultural equipment.
The Collector said that the BC Corporation has sanctioned Rs 36.50 crore for setting up 1,901 units under the self-employment scheme for BC communities. She added that Rs 3.12 crore has been sanctioned for setting up 39 generic medical shops, with a 50% subsidy for each unit. Similarly, Rs 4.30 crore has been sanctioned for establishing 215 units under the self-employment scheme for EWS communities, with a 50% subsidy. She said Rs 2.28 crore has been approved for setting up 35 generic medical shops, with a 50% subsidy on each unit.
She explained that Rs 23.31 crore has been sanctioned for setting up 694 units under ‘Chandranna Sopanam’ through the Kapu Corporation, and loans with a 50% subsidy would be provided for each unit. She also mentioned that Rs 25 crore has been sanctioned for setting up 10 small and medium-scale industries, which will be granted to groups of three to five members. Each unit will receive Rs 25 lakh, of which 40% will be subsidised.
