A delegation from the Andhra Pradesh Revenue Services Association (APRSA) has appealed to the Minister for Revenue, Stamps, and Registrations, Anagani Satya Prasad, to relieve approximately 800 Tahsildars back to their respective districts following their transfer before the general elections.
APRSA president Bopparaju Venkateswarlu and general secretary K. Ramesh Kumar presented a formal request on Saturday.
The APRSA representatives, led by Venkateswarlu and Kumar, met Minister Satya Prasad in his office at the Secretariat in Velagapudi to discuss the matter. In February, under directives from the Election Commission of India (ECI), the Chief Commissioner of Land Administration (CCLA) transferred about 800 Tahsildars to different districts.
After submitting the representation, Venkateswarlu stated that these Tahsildars served as Assistant Returning Officers (ARO) during the elections. Now that the ECI has lifted the election code, the Tahsildars should be returned to their original districts. He emphasized that, according to regulations, Tahsildars should be sent back to their respective districts immediately after the election process is completed.
Venkateswarlu mentioned that Minister Satya Prasad responded positively and assured that he would discuss the issue with relevant officials to take appropriate action. The minister also promised to issue government orders regarding this matter as soon as possible.
