Union Home Minister Amit Shah is scheduled to visit Khammam on August 27, where he will address a public meeting. Amit Shah will hold a big rally before the Telangana elections being held later this year.
Lakhs of people are expected to turn out for Amit’s rally in Khammam, BJP sources said. Amit was earlier expected to attend a rally in June, but it was postponed due to cyclone Biporjoy.
“After the public meeting he will meet the BJP’s top leaders in TS. He will review ground reports on the present state of affairs, public opinion towards the party and also discuss the party’s upcoming plan and programmes regarding the Assembly polls. Amit will also give his advice to BJP leaders regarding the polls,” a source said.
The BJP leaders said that a wave of anti-incumbency is sweeping across Telangana.
“The unemployed, students, farmers, Backward Castes, Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and all other sections of people are upset with the BRS government. The people of Telangana are now looking at the BJP and its double-engine sarkar to realise their hopes and redeem Telangana from the clutches of corruption and dynastic rule. The BJP will stand by the people of Telangana and ensure that their hopes are realised,” the BJP leaders said.
