Sharmila will be AP CM, Rahul will be PM in 2029: Revanth

At the 75th birth anniversary celebrations of the late former Chief Minister YS Rajasekhara Reddy in Mangalagiri, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy predicted that YS  Sharmila will become the next Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh while Rahul Gandhi will be Prime Minister of India. He said, “As per the aspirations of YSR, In 2029, Sharmila will become Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh and Rahul Gandhi will become Prime Minister of India”.
Amid the speculation about a by-election in Kadapa Parliament, Revanth Reddy expressed his willingness to campaign actively if the opportunity arises, emphasising his commitment to showcasing Kadapa’s strength in Delhi. “If there is by-election for Kadapa Parliament, I will take responsibility of campaigning for Congress. We should find it where we lost it. We will protect Congress in Andhra Pradesh and that’s why entire Cabinet from Telangana came”.
He mentioned that Sharmila is playing a similar role to that of YSR in 1999, voicing the concerns of the people. He described Sharmila as a leader fighting on behalf of the people. Revanth Reddy criticized the current political scenario in Andhra Pradesh, stating that there is no real opposition as BJP, Babu, Jagan, and Pawan are all on the same side.
“Andhra doesn’t have Opposition and has only ruling  – BJP – “Babu Jagan Pawan” are all on side of Modi”, he said.
He stressed that true successors of YSR are those who carry forward his ideals, not those who use his name for political gain. He assured that they stand in support of Sharmila in continuing YSR’s mission.
“Even school kid knows that it is difficult for Congress to win even as sarpanch in Andhra Pradesh. Despite knowing that it is difficult, Sharmila has embarked on this journey to take forward YSR’s legacy”, he said.
Revanth Reddy highlighted that despite being away for 15 years, YSR is remembered fondly by the people. He left an indelible mark on their hearts, especially those of the poor. Revanth Reddy remarked that the void left by YSR is still evident and emphasized the millions of admirers YSR has in both Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. Sharing a personal anecdote, Revanth Reddy recalled his first experience in the legislative council, preparing extensively to make an impression on YSR. He appreciated YSR’s encouragement and support for new members, stating that strong leadership is built by fostering newcomers. He stressed that the respect for opposition members is a lesson to be learned from YSR.
