Veteran actor Rajendra Prasad will be seen playing a key role alongside Archana in Shashtipoorthi, which is set to hit the screens on May 30. The film promises a string of interesting anecdotes and reunites Rajendra Prasad and Archana after 38 years since their classic film Ladies Tailor.
Music legend Ilaiyaraaja recently visited Hyderabad after a long gap to promote this Telugu film and interact with the media. The film marks the first time that Oscar-winner M.M. Keeravani has written lyrics under Ilaiyaraaja’s composition. Adding another unique element, legendary singer S.P. Balasubrahmanyam’s son, S.P. Charan, has also sung a song under Ilaiyaraaja’s direction for the first time.
Renowned art director Thota Tharani has worked on this film, adding further weight to the project. Rupeysh and Aakanksha Singh play the lead pair, while Pavan Prabha makes his directorial debut.
“Many stalwarts have contributed to this film. Ilaiyaraaja’s music has brought major attention. The track ‘Iru Kanulu Kanulu Kalisi Murise,’ written by Rehman and beautifully rendered by S.P. Charan and Vibhavari, has already created buzz. This is drawing attention not just from audiences but also within business circles,” said the director.
