In the ever-evolving landscape of men’s grooming, TrimX has emerged as one of the best men’s salon chains in India, transforming the art of personal style into an exclusive experience. Since its inception in June 2019, it has become a one-stop destination for men seeking an elevated grooming experience where every detail is meticulously crafted.
Launched by Gayathri Krishnan with 20 years of experience in the corporate sector, it envisages a space for men’s grooming that can provide professional and hygienic daily grooming services at an affordable price.
Speaking to The Pioneer, Gayathri said, “Unisex salons are expensive for men due to their pricing structure, but they focus more on women’s grooming services. In the case of traditional barber shops, they may offer basic services without the modern amenities and grooming experiences that men seek. This creates a need for an alternative that specifically caters to men’s grooming needs, offering a comfortable and personalised experience tailored to their preferences. It fills this gap by providing specialised services, skilled barbers, contemporary grooming techniques, and a relaxed environment designed to cater to the unique grooming requirements of men at affordable prices.”
She also said that the perception of a woman managing a chain of men’s salons had its challenges from local barbers. This led to multiple challenges, which they overcame and continue to overcome. “The pandemic was also a big challenge, which we successfully overcame with sheer determination. Manpower sourcing and training continue to be a challenge, which we are addressing by contacting NGOs that can help us train resources and create job opportunities for the underprivileged,” she shared.
WE Hub, with its pertinent industry connections, facilitated Gayathri’s engagement with experts, including the owner of a leading salon chain in India. Beyond mentorship, WE Hub also orchestrated TrimX’s subtle ascent into the media spotlight, expanding its reach organically and elevating customer perception.
Gayathri’s advice for fellow women and aspiring women entrepreneurs is, “It’s a tough road ahead, but there is no problem that can’t be solved. Half your problem is solved with your determination and confidence in yourself.”
