Mayor Gadwal R.Vijaylakshmi said as per the directions of Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao and Minister for MA&UD KT Rama Rao, the GHMC has undertaken various projects under SRDP and CRMP to provide basic infrastructure as per the requirements, as Hyderabad is the most happening city in India.
As Hyderabad city is fast developing in all fronts, to keep pace with the development and to sustain it, there is a need to provide all basic amenities and infrastructure to the citizens.
The Mayor said the GHMC has undertaken 47 infrastructure projects, 41 of GHMC and six are from other departments. As of now, 35 are completed and this is the 17th flyover, with 4-lane bidirectional flyover from Shilpa Layout to ORR, which facilitates the commuters to travel hassle-free, saves a lot of time and also reduces pollution. The flyover is ready for inauguration. Further, Kothaguda flyover will be inaugurated next month and the remaining projects are in different stages of progress.
The Mayor said that earlier, it used to take at least 45 minutes to 60 minutes for citizens to travel from part of the city to another part. Now with the use of flyovers the travel time has reduced significantly. Similarly, under-pass and link roads are provided as per the demands of public representatives and citizens.
Earlier, the Mayor, at the request of Venkateshwara Colony Corporator Manne Kavita, inspected Jalagam Vengal Rao Park, Banjara Hills and directed the GHMC officials to clean the debris accumulated in the water pond, to rectify pathway properly to enable senior citizens to walk freely, to replace catch-pit covers which are damaged, provide mesh on the nala, to paint the grills, to retrieve water fountain at the entrance and to maintain toilets properly.
The Mayor directed the HMWWSB officials to take steps to divert the sewerage water coming into the park from outside and to provide drinking water connection to the park. Sshe said she will visit in the park again in the first week of December. Zonal Commissioner Ravi Kiran and officials from the Engineering, UBD, Entomology wing and HMWWSB participated during the inspection.
