KADAPA: Two siblings drowned in a water pit at Salabad village in Vontimitta mandal in the district on Saturday night. Police here said that the deceased Harsha (6) and Shravya (4) fell in a water pit accidentally while playing at their house. The pit was dug up for the construction of a toilet which was filled with water due to incessant rain under the influence of the Mandous cyclone. The siblings were retrieved from the pit and shifted to the RIMS where they were declared brought dead. The police registered a case and shifted the bodies to the GGH for postmortem.
