Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy will participate in inauguration programmes and lay the foundation for many development programmes and further will address public meetings at Narasapuram in West Godavari district on Monday. The CM will participate in 15 programmes and further address the public meeting during his visit to the West Godavari district after the reorganisation of the district. Â
As per the CM Jagan programme, he will lay the foundation for Andhra Pradesh Aqua University, renovation works of Narasapuram Bus Station, Biyyaputhippa Fishing Harbour, Kaja and East Kokkileru and Muskepalem outfall structures, Treasury and Accounts Office, Narasapuram, 220/132/ 33 KV Rustumbada Power Substation, Moolaparru Regulator Cone on Upputeru River, and distribution of lands of Narasapuram Agriculture Company.
The Chief Minister will  inaugurate the new building of Narasapuram Regional Hospital, Public Health Department Narasapuram Municipality Drinking Water Development Scheme, Narasapuram Underground Drainage Scheme, ‘Vashishtha Varadhi’ – strengthening of the embankment at Buddigavani jetty, ‘Seshavatharam’ crop canal development works and Mogalthur Weir Crop Canal Construction Works.
The officials said that the establishment of a separate university named Andhra Pradesh Aqua University at Narasapuram, will be the third Aqua University in the country after Tamil Nadu and Kerala and 40 acres of land has been allotted between Saripalli and Likhithapudi villages near Narasapuram with an estimated cost of Rs 332 crores for construction. In the second phase of university works, 350 acres in Biyaputhippa village of Narasapuram mandal will be taken up for the construction of the university’s beach campus and research centre with Rs 222 crore.Â
This will benefit fishermen and aquaculture farmers. A proposal to start more new fisheries colleges and Fisheries Polytechnic colleges under Aqua University to produce the required number of Fisheries Diploma, BFSC, MFSC and PhD qualified candidates are also under consideration by the government. With the establishment of this university, there is no need to depend on other states for professional manpower.
A fishing harbour will come up in Biyyaputhippa to an extent of 150 acres with a cost of Rs 429.43 crore and the government has already issued a GO to construct a fishing harbour. The harbour construction site is 14 km from Narasapuram town and will benefit about 6,000 fishermen from Narasapuram and Mogalthur mandals. Regarding Narasapuram Agriculture Company Lands, In the year 1921, the erstwhile British government gave 1,754 acres of land to the Narasapuram Agriculture Company Limited on a 99-year lease in Darbarevu village, a sub-village of Vemulavi in Narasapuram mandal. Since that day, 1623 farmers have acquired such land and are doing agriculture, but the farmers have no land ownership rights or revenue record rights. Therefore, the land is not eligible to be sold or mortgaged in banks.
