Bigg Boss 4 fame Syed Sohel Ryan is all set to make his big screen debut with Lucky Lakshman, releasing today in your nearby theaters. The debutante opens up about his debut, balancing professional and personal life, debunking some myths around Telugu daily soap, and much more.

After struggling for around 12 long years, Sohel has finally got the opportunity to make his mark with Lucky Lakshman, which is going to hit the theaters today.

Directed by AR Abhi and produced by Haritha Gogineni, the film tells the tale of a middle class software employee named Lakshman. While popular music director Anup Rubens scored the music, Cinematographer Andrew framed the shots and the movie was put together by editor Prawin Pudi.

Celebrities often find it extremely difficult to find the right balance between professional and personal lives. It appears like Sohel struggles with the same issue like many others. Another aspect of being well known is that one has to put up a version of themselves in order to appease people. Commenting on the dichotomy of balancing professional and personal life, Sohel said, “Professional life is good, but I am yet to strike the balance between personal and professional life. Now that I have attained fame through Bigg Boss, it’s become all the more difficult to be normal. I’m not being pompous but I can’t act in real life. If I act in the real world, there’s no point to it. I am still learning how to communicate with the media and people around me and I’m trying my level best to stay true to my inner being. I’m really irked by how casually people comment negative things on social media. When we put in so much effort into making movies, we expect to see a positive outcome. Negative videos tend to get lakhs of views when compared to the good ones. If I have to be honest, this really bothers me.”

Soon after his successful stint at the Bigg Boss house, film offers started coming the actors’ way. At the zenith of his fame, the thespian signed for a film titled, Mister Pregnant which gained a good response. However, due to certain reasons the film is still yet to hit the screens. “Mister Pregnant was the first film that I’ve signed after coming out of the Bigg Boss house. I still have the regret that I couldn’t capitalise on my fame and one year just went by. Unfortunately, things didn’t materialise as per the plan. However, I’m hopeful that the film will do extremely well on its release,” informed the actor.

The actor clearly couldn’t contain his excitement talking about his debut. We all know how special these moments are for debutants. First time comes only once in life, and the Janatha Garage actor made no mistakes whatsoever in expressing his joy to the media, “Lucky Lakshman is a cute love story that has entertaining elements. This film will certainly impress the family audience. There’s not a single scene in the film that would make people uncomfortable. All sections of the audience will love watching this film. We finished the film in just 28 days. I’ve got to give it to music director Anup Rubens for scoring such amazing music. I’m super grateful to all the technicians who worked on this film. We’ve given our best to score big with this film. We’re only gotten a positive response for our promos and trailer. I’m hoping the same will translate soon.”

The Kotha Bangaru Lokam actor didn’t have it easy in life. He had to rise above tough situations in life like any other common man to land himself in the role of a leading man. One big misconception that the general audience have is that actors who come from the Television industry lack the acting chops and talent. Having started his career with Telugu daily soaps like Pasupu Kumkuma, Nathicharami, and Krishnaveni, the actor was quick to debunk the myths, “I really want to prove myself as an actor. It doesn’t matter if I’ve come from the television industry or some other place. I acted in serials to make some money. We have plenty of examples in the Indian Film Industry where Television actors made it big in films. People will always support films that are high on content. There’s not much difference when it comes to acting as both the industries function in the same way. Also, if I’m able to perform well in emotional scenes, it is only because of the time I spent working in the TV industry.”

With films like Bootcut Balaraju, Mister Pregnant, Organic Mama Hybrid Alludu in his arsenal, the actor’s hoping to make his mark in the Telugu Film Industry and fulfil his cinema aspirations. “I am constantly striving to pick scripts that have a unique concept. I understand that people want to see me in a mass avatar and I can assure my fans that I’ll be working on a commercial entertainer soon”, wrapped the debutante.
