SP appreciates policemen for saving life of 2 youths

Superintendent of Police Malika Garg has appreciated the police personnel for saving two youths from being washed away in the flood water.

On September 3, at around 3 a.m. on the Giddalur-Ambavaram road when it was raining heavily, two youths SK Rahim (30) and SK Khalil (23) of Giddalur Town were crossing the apron of the stream on a bike when the Uppuvagu rivulet suddenly overflowed.

Due to the overflow, they along with the bike were washed away 50 meters in the stream and while they were hanging on to a tree branch, a man named Ramana from Ambavaram noticed them and promptly called Dial 112.

The control room staff immediately responded to the call and informed Giddalur CI P. Deva Prabhakar who immediately reached the spot with their staff and went down into the raging stream and rescued the youths with the help of ropes, brought them safely to the shore and handed them over safely to their family members.

The district SP especially appreciated Giddalur CI P Deva Prabhakar, HC Venkateshwarlu, Constables KM Madhusudan, Narasimhulu, Samba, Mastan, home guards Ravi and Krishna Reddy reached the spot quickly and risked their lives in the line of duty and bravely saved the two youths in the pouring rain and presented them with certificates of appreciation at the district police office today.

The parents of the youth expressed their sincere gratitude to the district SP and Giddalur police personnel for the prompt response and rescue by the police. Media and people shower praise on the Prakasam police for the brave rescue of the youths trapped in the flood stream.
