District Superintendent of Police Sharath Chandra Pawar on Saturday said that a special drive was conducted across the district to control crime and 1,769 vehicles without number plates were seized in a week.
Speaking on the occasion, he said that criminals involved in crime, theft and chain snatching are using vehicles without number plates in the district and special measures would be taken in this way to curb crime. From now on, if anyone is caught without number plates or tampering with number plates in the district, cheating cases will be registered against them. He appealed to the people to cooperate with the police in controlling crime in the district.
