Special recognition to poets, writers of Bhupalapalli urged

The Jayashankar Saraswata Samiti, a literary organisation, has sought from the state government due recognition to the poets, artistes, artists, writers and intelligentsia, who are the sons of the soil.

An extended meeting of the poets and writers was held here on Sunday at Kotagullu temple to analyse the contemporary literary issues.

The meeting sought from the government construction of Sahiti Kala Bhavan and resolved to urge the government to accord special recognition to the poets and writers.

The district is home to prominent poets, writers and litterateurs, the meeting said. Also, it is home to lyricists like Chandra Bose and contributed several artistes – Raja Mahi, Mittapalli Surender and Damodar – to the celluloid world.

The meeting also resolved to publish a comprehensive book on literature of the district and its geography, incorporating the specialities of the district.

Also, the meeting called upon the writers and poets to support each other and set an example for the prospective poets.

Bhupalapally district, which produced many an eminent intelligentsia, with its natural resources and historic places, earned reputation as a district having rich literature.

The litterateurs who have taken part in the event took oath that they will remain united.

Eminent persons like Gaddam Lakshmaiah, Kallepu Rajeswara Rao, Rayapati Ramalingaiah, Medari Sunil and others took part in
the event.
