District Collector S Nagalakshmi has directed Roads and Buildings (R&B) officials to expedite road repair works and complete them within the stipulated timeline.
In a meeting with R&B engineers, officials, and contractors on Friday, the Collector reviewed progress on the ongoing roadworks. She informed that 49 repair projects covering 257 kilometres of roads are being undertaken at an estimated cost of Rs 1,336.8 lakh, with 16 works already in progress.
The Collector instructed officials to finalise agreements with contractors for completed tenders and ensure work begins without delay. For tenders still in process, she emphasised completing the procedures promptly and starting the works.
Highlighting priorities, the Collector stressed the need to focus on main roads in towns and those connecting national highways. She set a target to complete 40% of sanctioned works by November 30 and directed officials to upload completed project details online for bill sanctioning.
Assuring contractors that payments would be processed without delay, the Collector urged them to deploy adequate manpower and equipment to accelerate repairs. She also advised contractors to report any issues to the R&B Division for resolution.
R&B SE Srinivasa Murthy and EE Viswanath Reddy were present at the meeting.
