On the auspicious day of ‘Uttana Ekadasi’ in the sacred month of ‘Karthika’, the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) initiated the significant ‘Srinivasa Divyanugraha Homam’ for the well-being of humanity, as announced by TTD Chairman Bhumana Karunakara Reddy.
Speaking at the Homa Vedika at Alipiri Go Mandiram on Thursday, TTD Trust Board Chairman B Karunakar Reddy highlighted the organisation’s longstanding commitment to various religious programs. He introduced the ‘Srinivasa Divyanugraha Visesha Homam’ as a new and significant ritual dedicated to the well-being of devotees. This ritual holds a special place in Hindu Dharmic scriptures, invoking the blessings of Lord Agni with Venkateswara Sankalpam.
Chairman Reddy said that this is not a one-day event but a continuous practice for the duration of the existence of the Universal Supremo, Venkateswara Swamy.
He also noted the economic aspect of the Homam, stating that individual Homam performances can be expensive for many devotees. With this new initiative, devotees aspiring to perform the Homam can participate economically. He mentioned that, even before publicizing the event widely, online tickets for the Homam were already booked until December.
The TTD Board chief announced plans for a permanent Homa Vedika, which will be constructed with the contribution of a donor. This facility will allow 400-500 devotees to participate at different time slots seamlessly. Devotees will have the flexibility to choose the date of their preference or celebrate on special occasions. Chairman Reddy reiterated that the sole purpose of TTD is to facilitate the divine blessings of Sri Venkateswara Swamy for devotees.
The event kicked off with a vibrant procession featuring various artists portraying different deities. The procession, led by Vedic students, traveled from SV Vedic University to Homa Vedika, accompanied by Veda Ghosha.
Expressing immense satisfaction, devotees who participated in the Homam on its maiden day conveyed their gratitude to TTD Chairman and the Executive Officer (EO) for introducing this unique initiative in the broader interest of devotees.
