The state government approved Rs. 3,725.22-crore outlay for constructing 769.35 km of new roads and nine bridges.  Notably, the Roads and Buildings (R&B) Department received an allocation of Rs. 7,490 crore in the 2024-25 budget — a substantial increase of Rs. 4,990 crore from the previous year. This included Rs. 5,790 crore for R&B works, Rs. 200 crore for the Outer Ring Road (ORR), and Rs. 1,500 crore for the Regional Ring Road (RRR). Immediate repairs to roads damaged during heavy rains were undertaken, highlighting the government’s proactive approach to ensuring road safety.

As per government data, efforts to secure central funds have borne fruit, with Telangana successfully obtaining Rs. 422.12 crore for repairs on NH-65 and Rs. 662.67 crore for Sironcha-Atmakur on NH-353C. Additionally, the state secured Rs. 516.17 crore for a 14-km bypass on NH-565 near Nalgonda. These funds are the result of consistent advocacy by Chief Minister Revanth Reddy and R&B Minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy.
The RRR project, a cornerstone of Telangana’s infrastructure plans, has seen significant progress. Utility charges were cleared, forest clearances secured, and 95% of land acquisition completed for the northern stretch. Planning and consultancy for the southern segment are underway, ensuring the project’s steady advancement.
Under the Central Road Infrastructure Fund (CRIF), Telangana achieved an unprecedented allocation of Rs. 850 crore for 31 works spanning 435.29 km, showcasing the government’s commitment to leveraging national resources.

Heritage restoration projects, such as the Rs. 49-crore renovation of the Mahbubia Hall in the Assembly precincts and the Rs. 7.62-crore restoration of Shamanzil in Raj Bhavan, underscore the focus on preserving Telangana’s cultural identity.

In addition to infrastructure, the government has prioritized capacity building. Recruitment exams for 156 AEE posts were conducted, marking a historic move in a department long plagued by retirements exceeding new hires. Service rules were implemented, paving the way for long-awaited promotions and transfers, ensuring a motivated workforce.
With Rs. 231 crore allocated for various facilities in districts like Suryapet and Kodangal, and Rs. 205 crore sanctioned for land acquisition for the Mamnoor airport in Warangal, the government is driving balanced regional development.

Telangana’s achievements in roads and buildings over the past year reflect a commitment to holistic growth, fostering connectivity, sustainability, and economic prosperity for all.
