The Telangana Congress party organised an unemployed rally in Khammam on Monday. The speakers at the rally highlighted the Telangana State Public Service Commission (TSPSC) question paper leak which left hundreds of youth who appeared for competitive examinations disappointed.
Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) president A Revanth Reddy, who led the march, accused the State government of playing with the lives of the unemployed youth. There were 50 lakh unemployees in the State. The State government was playing with their lives, he observed.
The Telangana statehood slogan originated in the Khammam district and spread to other districts. Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao at the height of the movement for a separate Telangana provoked the youth to take a plunge into the movement. KCR gave a slogan of “water, funds and jobs.” The youth took part in the movement and contributed their might to achieve statehood for Telangana, he said.
Despite the youth taking part in the Telangana movement, KCR during the last nine years failed to come to their rescue and created even one job. There are 2 lakh vacancies in the State. The government, however, did not issue a notification, he said.
The government issued a notification for jobs after the Congress party organised the agitation. But, the TSPSC question paper leak led to the cancellation of examinations. The question papers were bought and sold in the market. The Secondary School Certificate (SSC) question papers, too, were sold in the market, he said.
Revanth Reddy accused the Minister in Khammam district of unleashing the police against the Congress activists in the district. The police were framing the Congress activists in false cases and invoking Preventive Detention Act against them. He vowed to fight the “authoritarian regime and protect the Congress activists.” He expressed confidence that the Congress would win all 10 seats in the district.
Congress leaders V Hanumantha Rao, Renuka Chowdary, Shabbir Ali, Balaram Naik and others took part in the rally.
