Steps for R-Day parade inspected

Chief Minister’s Programmes Coordinator and MLC Talasila Raghu Ram and NTR District Joint Collector Dr P Sampath Kumar, on Monday, inspected the arrangements for the 75th Republic Day celebrations that will take place at the Indira Gandhi Municipal Corporation (IGMC) Stadium on January 26. They asked the departments concerned to coordinate with each other and make the celebrations a grand success.
MLC Raghu Ram and Joint Collector Sampath Kumar said that the celebrations would be conducted in a festive mood highlighting national integrity. Governor SA Nazeer will be hoisting the national flag in the presence of Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy and other dignitaries.
Besides the Chief Justice of Andhra Pradesh High Court, judges, ministers, MLCs, MLAs and other VVIPs will be attending the function. Officials should coordinate with the Protocol Department to make seating arrangements, they said.
“The IGMC Stadium and the surrounding areas should be maintained clean. All tableaus to be featured in the parade should show the programmes of the government,” they added. Drinking water will be provided by the Vijayawada Municipal Corporation.
Protocol Director Bala Subrahmanyam Reddy, Vijayawada Sub Collector Aditi Singh, DRO SV Nageswara Rao, DM&HO Dr M Suhasini, DSO Mohan Babu, Deputy DEO KVN Kumar and others attended the meeting.
