Steps to educate staff at all levels on poll rules

In view of the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, Rachakonda Commissioner of Police Tarun Joshi, Rachakonda DCPs, Additional DCPs, ACPs and other officials conducted a video review on Monday regarding the security arrangements and precautions to be taken at the field level.
The Commissioner said that in the wake of the release of the notification for the Lok Sabha elections, everyone should do their best to conduct the elections in a fair manner. It is advised to set up check posts at all necessary places in Rachakonda and conduct armed inspections.
He suggested that more check posts should be set up at necessary places to catch the money being smuggled. They should provide specific instructions related to election duties to their lower level staff and arrange meetings with the staff to provide an understanding on the election rules. Visible policing should be given high priority.
Officers and staff are advised to have thorough knowledge of every aspect related to election rules. The officials are advised to be fully aware of the polling centres under the respective police station and take action. The concerned personnel should keep abreast of the situation at the field level and keep vigilance on the people who act to obstruct the election duties.
He also said that in the conduct of elections, there should be clarity regarding the identification of critical polling centres and vulnerable polling areas, and the route taken by the election management equipment should be checked. Installation of CC cameras in polling station areas, provision of infrastructure in the polling station should be ensured in advance; work in coordination with other government departments; full vigilance should be kept on those who create problems faced during the previous elections, rowdy-sheeters, those with suspect sheet, those with history sheet should be bound over.  During the election, law and order issues, social media messages and videos that are likely to create conflicts, things that go viral, should be informed to the higher officials.
The staff should be always alert and the problematic villages should be visited and focus should be on those villages.
