Stone laid for Mini Bus Station at Vambay Colony

Vijayawada MP Kesineni Srinivas, alias Nani, Andhra Pradesh Planning Board Vice Chairman and Vijayawada Central MLA Malladi Vishnu, along with MLC Md Ruhullah, Vijayawada West MLA Velampalli Srinivas and Vijayawada Municipal Corporation Mayor Rayana Bhagyalakshmi laid the foundation stone for the construction of the Mini Bus Station on Wednesday. The State government has sanctioned Rs.5 crore for the construction of the Mini Bus Station at the Vambay Colony at Ajith Singh Nagar in Vijayawada.
As Vijayawada city is expanding towards Ajith Singh Nagar, the APSRTC has come forward to construct the Mini Bus Station at Vambay Colony. Soon after the request of MLA Malladi Vishnu, Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy sanctioned Rs.5 crore. From the amount, Rs.2 crore was released in the first phase.
During the foundation stone-laying ceremony, Malladi Vishnu said that under the leadership of Jagan Mohan Reddy, the State government is providing better transport facilities to the people. The mini-bus station would be built on two acres, he said.
He said that as many as one lakh people reside in the Ajith Singh Nagar area and the bus station is needed for them. Around 22,000 people got house sites at Nunna, Surampalli, Kondapavulruru, and G Konduru and after the completion of the bus station, it would be useful for all these people. Also, e-buses would run in these areas to avoid pollution, he said.
Vijayawada MP Kesineni Srinivas said that after a gap of 41 years, Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has shown interest in constructing the bus station in Vijayawada. Former Chief Minister Dr NTR constructed the bus station, he explained.
