Local people submitted a petition to Bhongir MP Chamala Kiran Kumar Reddy to prevent the Adani Ambuja group from establishing its cement factory in Ramannapet mandal and to protect the environment and public health.
Two years ago after telling farmers that a logistic park was going to be set up and after purchasing around 350 acres for that in Kommaigudem in the Ramannapet mandal of Yadadri Bhuvanagiri district, a notification was issued regarding a public meeting on October 23 on the Adani Ambuja cement industry.
The people of Ramannapet mandal submitted a petition to MP Chamala Kiran Kumar Reddy in the presence of Nakirekal MLA Vemula Veeresham to stop the construction of the Adani Ambuja Cement Company in Ramannapet mandal.
Kiran promised to bring it to the attention of higher officials and the government.
The people said that the villages of Kommaigudem, Ramannapet, Siripuram, Bogaram, Neernemla, Janampally, Nidhanpally, Vellanki, Dubbaka, Tummalagudem, Peddakaparthi etc would be affected by the cement factory.
They said that dust and fumes from the cement factory would spread around 10 km and the huge noise would also be a constant inconvenience to the public.
The cement plant’s waste products like fly ash, slag, gypsum, clinker, coal, sulphur dioxide, nitrogen oxide etc would be released into the atmosphere causing lung diseases, skin diseases, miscarriage, stunted children, eyesight problems etc, they said.
