In a tragic incident, a four-year-old student was killed and three others were injured, when a wall of a private school collapsed in Nuzvid town on Saturday.

Police said that the deceased student Neela Manikanth (4) was killed when the wall of a private school caved in on him when he was at the toilet. Three students were injured in the incident.
The deceased boy was the son of Kandula Koteswara Rao and Nandini and belonged to Edulagudem village in Agiripalli mandal. The boy was critically injured and was shifted to a private hospital and he died while undergoing treatment.

The incident took place at around 3 pm at Wisdom school when some students stood at the toilet. It was alleged that the management of the school made efforts to ensure that the death of the student was not leaked to the media. The wisdom school is housed in a decrepit building that is decades old, belonging to Jamindars. Sub-inspector Shivannarayana visited the place where the mishap took place and registered a case.

Since the deceased Manikanta was the only son of the parents, no bounds to their grief.

The parents were seen wailing inconsolably. The father of the deceased boy alleged that the management of the school did not respond when he telephoned them many times to inquire about his son.

Nuzvid TDP in-charge Muddaraboina Venkateswara Rao went to the hospital and consoled the parents of the deceased boy. He appealed to the police to conduct an impartial inquiry into the incident and do justice to the parents.
