In response to the recent criticisms levelled by Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) chief YS Sharmila, YSRCP regional coordinator YV Subbareddy has urged Sharmila to reconsider her accusations against the party. Subbareddy also took a swipe at Opposition Leader Chandrababu Naidu, accusing him of sowing discord between families for his personal gains.
Addressing the media on Thursday, Subbareddy reiterated the YSRCP’s decision to not form alliances with any political party, emphasising their commitment to contesting elections independently. He criticised Chandrababu Naidu’s alleged association with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), cautioning against aligning with the BJP as Chandrababu did. Subbareddy asserted that the people would not forgive the Congress party for the historical division of the State and accused them of reneging on promises related to special status.
Taking a dig at Chandrababu Naidu’s role in Amaravati, Subbareddy claimed that the TDP chief engaged in real estate business under the guise of the capital project. He accused Chandrababu of creating divisions among families, citing examples from NTR’s family and suggesting a similar fate for Sharmila, who has recently joined Congress. Continuing his critique, Subbareddy accused the Congress party of causing trouble for YSR’s family in various ways and urged Sharmila to reconsider her stance before blaming the YSRCP.
While Minister Botsa Satyanarayana vehemently criticised Sharmila’s statements and described her words as nothing new, Satyanarayana highlighted her alignment with TDP Chief Chandrababu Naidu’s rhetoric. Satyanarayana accused Chandrababu Naidu of making unfulfilled promises, particularly on the issue of special status. He asserted that Chandrababu Naidu’s support to the Centre was conditional and based on a point-by-point agenda. He said Opposition parties prioritise power over welfare. He confidently asserted that the people would not forget recent events, promising that their response would be evident in the next seventy days.
Simultaneously, YV Subbareddy issued directives to YSRCP ranks, urging them to prepare for upcoming elections. He set ambitious goals for Uttarandhra, expressing the party’s aim to secure 34 assembly and five MP seats in the region. Subbareddy called for active involvement from leaders and activists in their respective positions, emphasising the importance of a successful YSRCP meeting near Tagarapuvalasa to send a strong signal across the State. The YSRCP is gearing up for an intense electoral battle as they focus on their objectives for the upcoming polls.
