Minister for Finance T Harish Rao has directed the management of the Trident industry to immediately clear the dues to farmers. On Saturday, Trident management, Sangareddy Collector A Sarath, District Superintendent of Police M Ramanakumar, Zaheerabad MP Bibi Patil, MLA Manik Rao, and DCMS Chairman Sivakumar held a meeting on the payment of pending bills to sugarcane farmers.
On this occasion, the Minister said that the management of the Trident Industry withheld payment due to farmers on one or other pretext. The Minister expressed anger over the delay in paying dues to farmers. He said that Rs 14.15 crore is still due to be paid to the farmers who supplied sugarcane during the last season. Harish Rao was angry over the management’s failing to fulfil its promise to clear the dues by July 15. The management assured the Minister that it would start clearing dues from August 17 and 31. Additional Collector Chandrasekhar, DCMS Chairman Sivakumar, former CDC Chairman Umakant Patil, Assistant Cane Commissioner Rajasekhar and Zaheerabad RDO Venkareddy participated in this meeting.
