Supply sand to consumers without delay: Collector

NTR District Collector Dr G Srijana has instructed the officials to work closely with sand transporters to ensure smooth and timely supply of sand to the consumers. The State government has issued guidelines to improve the implementation of the free sand policy.
Collector Srijana, along with Joint Collector Dr Nidhi Meena, held a meeting with representatives of the Mines and Geology Department and the Sand Lorries Owners’ Association on the sand policy at the collectorate in Vijayawada. She urged the transport operators to cooperate with the district authorities in supplying sand.
Dr Srijana emphasised that the district administration is transparently implementing the free sand policy and ensuring timely delivery to consumers’ homes. She also stated that sand charges are being directly credited to the government account.
Additionally, she requested sand transporters to register their names in the AP Sand Portal, with no limitations on registration. Considering the traffic congestion in the city, transportation will be conducted at night. She clarified that only transportation charges will be collected from consumers, with no additional fees.
